We took a brief trip to Glenwood Springs, Colorado last week. Christina's company was having training there for a couple of days, so the rest of us decided to ride along. We had great time exploring a little bit of Colorado.
Near a little town called Redstone. The scenery was amazing.
Mt. Sopris. Snow on top, changing leaves on the middle, and 75 degrees at the bottom.
These coke stoves were built in the late 1800's. They burned coal to get something called coke that was then used for steel.
Hanging with a couple of buddies outside a souvenir shop.
Trying to skip rocks across the Colorado River. They didn't have much luck. We were told the river was very high for this time of year, with all the recent storms.
Lots of carved bears everywhere. One cute Clarissa.
Carson and Glenwood Springs below, with majestic Rockies in the distance.
The kids did this human maze thing. Elijah in one of the towers.
Glenwood Hot Springs. A couple of huge pools, heated by geothermal waters. The pool was like 90 and the hot tub 104. We enjoyed relaxing there.
The hotel pool. That's usually the favorite activity of any vacation.
Carson did his 4th grade report on Carbon County last year. Last week he finally got to see it. Lots of coal around.

There are no boring roads in the southern half of Utah. The landscapes are unreal.

Jer this is a great blog! I love the pictures and the words!
I see a nostalgic comparison to family trips in Mt Sopris, the changing leaves and the pleasant temperatures.
I have pictures of me on family trips as a child, ( Mt Sopris), pictures of my children on trips ( changing leaves), and I now love to see the pictures of my grandchildren on trips. . ( pleasant temps).
Hehehe! where does the time go.....passing so quickly as the passing of seasons.
We did a family vacay down to Glenwood Springs a couple of years ago. Great scenery and super relaxing. Such a fabulous trip. Glad to see you guys had fun. :)
