Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas. We had many fun gatherings with both sides of the family leading up to Christmas and on Christmas day. Christina's parents stayed with us the week of Christmas and we enjoyed having them here. The kids had lot of fun with Grandma and Grandpa Candland. Clarissa woke up crying at 6:00 a.m. Christmas morning and was not going back to sleep, so we sent in her to wake up her brothers. She continued crying and they popped right out of bed, ready to get going with Christmas. It's always fun to see them walk down the stairs and see what Santa left for them.

Here's what it looked like before the kids came down...

Not wasting any time...

Santa brought Clarissa a ride on Winnie the Pooh airplane with lights and sounds. So far Elijah has logged the most flight hours...

Carson got just what he wanted, a microscope and a watch...

Santa brought Elijah a red scooter and a Diego watch that he had been talking about for months. He also got an electronic drum set...

Clarissa got a dollhouse. It's nearly as tall as she is...

Carson got right to work with his telescope. We've had fun looking at all sorts of things...

Elijah loves playing with his new legos...

A couple of days before Christmas we bundled up and went to Temple Square. It snowed on us part of the time...

Pre-Christmas Insanity

The kids were very excited for Christmas. Things were especially crazy once we put the tree up in early December. They had seemingly endless energy and never slowed down until they'd lay down in bed at the end of the day. Jumping onto the couches and sliding down the stairs on cardboard are just a couple examples of the madness going on in our house lately...

Sledding

We took advantage of the weekend snow storms and went sledding today. The boys had a blast. Clarissa was mostly fearful. After the weekend, I'm not sure what's more terrifying to her, Santa Claus or the sledding hill...

Carson gets a running start...

You can't see Clarissa's face, but she was not happy...

Down goes Carson...

I can't remember if Elijah was pushing her or trying to slow her down, either way she's not very pleased...

Clarissa was a little more at ease with mom or dad in the sled with her...

The boys soon discovered how fast the icy park slides were in their winter clothes. Lijah exits the twisty slide at roughly 105 m.p.h. He managed to survive....

Santa scares Clarissa, Part II

We took the kids to see Santa Claus today. Just like last year, Clarissa freaked out big time, even with mommy sitting right there with her. It was pretty funny. The boys were excited to see him, though they avoided all eye contact...

Christmas Kids

Is that Santa coming down the stairs?

Three little goofballs sitting in front of the Christmas tree...
